Small family house on a future street corner

A neighboring meadow of a new suburb near Prague could be anything from a kindergarten desired by locals to a cheap supermarket. The field on the south side in the property of the developer is green, another street is planned to run from the corner of the plot. An uncertain outlook for the future remains, years after the implementation of the proposal. The mass of the house enclosed the plot in its lowest, northern tip. Most of the garden was lowered into this basin, separated from the surroundings by a slight rampart. The rounded corner of the plot at the mouth of the future street is higher, above the horizon of the view from the garden – a small hill with a linden tree is also suitable for tobogganing.

The living room is separated from the northern entrance yard by a block of smaller rooms, on the west side of the parking lot, connected to the neighbour. The ground floor opens to the south garden through the kitchen and living room. A unique characteristic of the house are the pavilion cabin-style bedrooms placed gently on the concrete roof. The remaining roof is accessible for informal urban-style use, flower pots, drying laundry, etc.

We planned the living space in the entire outline of the ground floor. The need to save led to its limitation. The effort to preserve the building's proportions gave rise to a patio that connects to the living room. When the tree planted here grows to size, the mass of its crown will echo the intended roof office. The modeling of the building and the terrain allows for a relaxed home life even in a significant part of the house's surroundings – it helps to fulfill the idea that is often the reason for choosing suburban living.
