100 years – 100 Items – 100 Stories for the anniversary of the Republic

An exhibition in Prague's Carolinum documented, through one hundred exceptional objects, the coexistence of Charles University and the state from the establishment of an independent Czechoslovakia until 2018. The one hundred exhibits were arranged chronologically in the Cross Corridor on a consistent line: the stacked, always identical structural layers of the workbench are the basis for a specific object associated with an understandable story.

A horizontal line traces one hundred defined years in similar layers of abstract, theoretical work; the need for necessary interruptions and the use of space outside the cloister corridor allowed for a consideration of the treatment of an imaginary time line. The congruent treatment in a vertical direction presents each subject-story as the top layer of a congruent line, but above all a continuous base, growing out of the academic soil..
The exhibition recieved the 2018 Miroslav Petrusek Award of Charles University
